Terms and Conditions
- Deposit; deposit is the amount that Higher Rentals ask (as guarantee) for the vehicle. Deposit does not cover serious damage to the vehicle. The deposit is only for in case the vehicle is brought back too late; small damages, less fuel, damaged tire etc. In aforesaid (and similar) cases the chargeable amount will be deducted from the deposit.
- Liability; the renter agrees that he/she is responsible in case of joyriding of the vehicle. If it appears that a non-authorized person is driving the vehicle, Higher Rentals will confiscate the vehicle immediately. In such case the deposit and one day rate will be charged.
- The rented vehicle is to be returned at the renting location at the specified date, unless other pre-arrangements have been made. The car may not be transported to another island and may only be driven in Curaçao.
- If the CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) is accepted, your responsibility for damages is limited to USD400,- for the rented car. When the CDW is not accepted, you will be liable for all damages up to the full value of the car. A security deposit will be made to cover the CDW deductible. This deposit will be refunded in full upon returning the car, and if no damage was inflicted to the rented vehicle. In case the client declined the CDW-Insurance, you will be fully liable for all damages caused to the rented vehicle.
- If a accident has been caused due to a traffic violation, i.e driving faster then the law permits, driving a red light, the insurance will be automatically declined (if accepted) and the driver will be responsible for all damages to the car and/or to the 3rd party involved in the accident.
- In case of driving on unpaved and/or sandy foams, all risk and costs of damages , towing, cleaning are for the driver's expense. Your right to the CDW-Insurance (if accepted) will be automatically declined.
- Each car is provided with a spare tire and the necessary tools. In case of a flat/broken tire, the driver is responsible for replacing the tire and also for the costs of the repair of the flat/broken tire.
- Only the main and the additional driver on the contract, are authorized to drive the vehicle. In case of any accident and the driver is not mentioned as neither the main or the additional driver on the contract, the insurance protection is voided, and the main and/or additional driver will be responsible for all damages inflicted to the rented vehicle and/or 3rd party involved.
- We advice to not leave any valuables behind in the car. If you are forced to leave anything, place this in the trunk and always lock the car. Higher Rentals can not be held responsible for any loss and/or theft of valuables from the rented car.
- In case of joyriding/theft you have to notify the police department at telephone number 911. In case of an accident call CRS at telephone 199. The insurance companies require a CRS report in order to process any claim. If the police and/or the CRS is not notified, the insurance protection will be voided and the driver is responsible for all damages inflicted to the vehicle and/or to the 3rd party involved. Please notify Higher Rentals immediately after notifying CRS and/or police.
- Each rented vehicle is provided with 1 set of key, if these are lost and/or damaged, the full deposit of USD400 will be charged.
